PAK’nSAVE is New Zealand’s low-budget supermarket, and to help Kiwis save money, they keep their advertising costs down. That’s why their mascot has been a 2D Stickman for the past 14 years.

As a true champion of low prices, Stickman is always looking for interesting ways to save money. Usually, radio is his low-priced bread and butter, but come Christmas, everyone’s putting ads on the airwaves. However, this December, he realised something. No one listens to radio for the ads, they listen for the music.

So, Stickman found a loophole to turn big songs into save-y messages without having to pay big licensing fees.

For an entire hour, Stickman hosted NZ's most popular radio station, “The Breeze”. He then used his low-priced humour and well-known voice to charmingly intro and outro globally-recognised artists. By hosting the show, instead of buying the ad space, he managed to turn over $2,500,000 of music into save-y messages for free.
