Guest Judge: Jens Waernes, senior CD/AD, BBDO, New York

 GUEST JUDGE /BEST AD OF THE WEEK   WORLDWIDE    January 11, 2016 18:02 (Edited: February 17, 2023 05:19)
BEST TV
Winner: Johnnie Walker, Dear Brother. This spot is very solid. It is both inspiring and the cinematography is beautiful. Lastly the film lands nicely on the brand's slogan: Keep Walking.

Runner up: Old Spice, Rocket Car. I learned a most valuable lesson from this non-intellectual, fun spot:
If you fill your brain with knowledge, there won't be any room for dreams.

BEST PRINT
Winner: Play-Doh, Loading Time. This is a great example of the importance of good old, analog play in today's digital age.

Runner up: There really weren't any other outstanding print ads this week.

BEST OUTDOOR
Winner: Norwegian, Next Stop New York. Being a Norwegian working in New York, I allowed myself to be charmed by this idea. It may not be the most original idea, but it is playfully executed using some of the most crowd attracting activities true to Time Square. Personally, I prefer getting off at 47-50 Sts, Rockefeller Center to avoid all this non-sense but I won't hold that against them.

Runner up: Samsung Nordic, Fine Watching. I thought this was an elegant way to push the viewing experience to a higher level. TV dinner at it's finest.

BEST INTERACTIVE
Winner: Netflix, Socks. More awesomeness from our friends at Netflix. These warm and cozy socks could really rock my binge-watching. 'Cause it's true I almost always fall asleep without a clue of when and where. I'd love a pair of Narcos. Wait a minute. I have to knit these myself?

But let's say I did knit myself a pair of cozy Narcos, fell asleep and woke up to find my entertainment paused. I admit it would be tempting to walk over to the brewery's bar and have some free, tasty pints from the Ponysaurus Holiday Spirit Measurer Thingy. If so, The Ponysaurus would be the Runner up.
