Clear Channel: The Out of Home ProjectTop 6: April 3rd 2019
Winters in Sweden can be fatally cold for the increasing number of homeless people. When temperatures drop below minus 7°C special emergency shelters open up. One problem though - they open in different locations every time, and it's difficult to reach the homeless with the information in time. Since Clear Channel is present everywhere people are, we saw an opportunity to help out.
We turned Clear Channel's network of Bannerboy digital billboards into an emergency system. When the temperature drops to negative 7 degrees or colder, the screens directed homeless people to their closest emergency shelter. By using real-time data and GPS coordinates, collected from a number of organizations and institutions. The initiative has given refuge to those who need it most and garnered significant attention for this critically important issue. -78 million people in earned organic reach -78% have become more positive towards Clear Channel -News coverage from 120+ Swedish and International sources -New cities has expressed their interested in establishing Clear Channel’s digital signs -More cities within Clear Channel's network now want to use the emergency system
