Over 16 Days of Activism, POWA, a feminist women’s rights organisation, exposed the nation to the brutal truth about gender-based violence, by rebranding the country.
Using current abuse statistics and facts, we visually showcased the reality of our country. We designed a coat of arms, rewrote the constitution, created a flag, renamed the provinces, wrote a nation anthem, designed the currency, brewed a national beer and exposed the ministers of the RSA. The public, learners, the media and key influencers were invited to experience the reality.
