In Africa, many of the measures we’ve put into place, like quarantines and social distancing, are more difficult to implement, which is why Yard and non-profit SpeakUpAfrica decided to create a campaign to develop awareness of the critical actions that need to be taken. Yard reached out to its broad network, artists, singers, and athletes to develop “Cool Notices”, graphic illustrations the well-known personalities posted on their Instagram accounts, and texts that play off their catchphrases and lyrics, with the aim of of catching the attention of African youth, who make up 70% of the continent’s population
