Bud Light is encouraging football fans to consider Black-owned restaurants for their game day bites with their new NFL Thursday Night Football campaign, “Bud Light Thursday Night Shoutout.” Many reports have shown Black-owned restaurants were hit disproportionately harder this year, so Bud Light is offering their platform and ad space during the NFL season to drive more awareness to Black-owned establishments around the country. This week it’s New York’s turn as the Jets face the Denver Broncos in this Thursday’s prime time game and the brand is giving a shoutout to Make My Cake - a family owned operated business in the heart of New York City’s Harlem for over 20 years. If you have the chance to check them out, we would recommend their famous German Chocolate Cake, Red Velvet Cake, or local favorite, Sweet Potato Cheesecake. Please find the full length shoutout, directed by local New York director Jason Harper, set to air this Thursday night. Additionally, Bud Light also partnered with food app directory EatOkra, created by local New York husband and wife team Anthony and Janique Edwards, to encourage viewers nationally to seek and support Black-owned restaurants in their own communities.
