Just in time for Thanksgiving, Lost Eden, the red-blend wine from the country of Georgia which launched in the United States this month, is unveiling a six-hour video on its website of an eclectic gathering of family and friends preparing and enjoying a sumptuous, traditional dinner in a lush garden setting. Entitled "Supra," which is the name for the grand feasts held by Georgians on important occasions, the video starts as guests arrive and hosts cook and unspools through rounds of toasts, a 12-course meal, ancient folk songs and traditional Georgian folk dances. Conceived and produced by Lost Eden's U.S. agency, San Francisco-based Odysseus Arms, "Supra" comes at a time when families and friends are scaling down their Thanksgiving gatherings, due to the realities of COVID-19. The website is a window into another world and provides an escape to a faraway land from the comfort of your living room. Its leisurely pace parallels the rising escapism content/Slow TV trend, where people watch videos of events, such as scenic train rides, in real time. “Supra” will be promoted with highlights from the dinner on YouTube and Instagram, with an invitation for people to stream the entire six-hour feast alongside their own family gatherings while sampling a little Georgian hospitality. The social campaign, breaking this week, will target millennials and the wine trade.
