Turner to Monet: Be Moved

The National Gallery of Australia wanted to promote their latest exhibition ‘Turner to Monet- The triumph of landscape’ featuring many of the world’s greatest artists never before seen in Australia.
These artists questioned the nature of painting itself and transformed the way we looked at the world by moving away from the traditional depictions of known places and creating painterly explorations of mood and time passing, experimenting with colour and form. They ultimately pushed the boundaries of landscape as a subject and gave it a new importance in the art of Europe and the new world.

Creative Commentary

We wanted to do justice to these giants of the art world however none of the works had arrived on our shores yet, so we decided that showing the emotive reaction of a patron of the gallery was the most powerful way to describe that there is much more to these masterful paintings than meets the eye.
