‘Miss You’ was inspired by the deflation of being denied life’s simple pleasures - like a visit to the pub, or spending time with loved ones. We’ve all taken for granted those special moments with friends and family over a freshly poured pint, so we felt it would be appropriate and fun to share our frustrations with fellow drinkers and lockdown sufferers through this lighthearted little film. The script was written by Charlie and John Doris and further developed with HunkyDory director David Symmons (First Dates, 24 Hours in A&E, Cadbury’s Families Reunited) before being shot in a friend’s pub in Camden. David was the perfect director choice, bringing his subtly observed and intimate camerawork, honed through years of documentary filmmaking, to allow the performance, narrative and sentiment to playfully unfold. HunkyDory Films misses all its industry friends and can’t wait to meet face to face for a drink very soon! In anticipation of the lockdown restrictions of serving of alcohol being lifted, HunkyDory thought it was a fun and apt film to celebrate and to be able to enjoy the virtues of a freshly pulled pint …. A simple pleasure that we have sorely missed.
