MND is a debilitating disease, which gradually causes the muscles that enable us to move, speak, swallow and breathe to stop working – and as they do, we lose our ability to use everyday items.
One of the people who lives with the disease is a man called David Seymour. He has created a partnership with TradeMe that will chart his ‘digital decline’, selling everyday items he no longer has the ability to use to raise funds for leading charity MND New Zealand. The auction will start with large outdoor items like a fishing rod and a bike, before moving onto the likes of cutlery for when he no longer has the ability to feed himself – charting the traumatic decline of his own body.
