Thirty years ago, in Tokyo, four jubilant winning athletes bit into their medals for a group of photographers. In doing so, they helped make medal-biting iconic behavior for athletes everywhere. But this summer, with athletes wisely being required to wear masks when not competing, there may not be any medal-biting at all. That’s why Blue Diamond is giving fans the chance to do the biting instead. On July 22, Blue Diamond will introduce its Xtremes medal – a medal made out of spicy Blue Diamond Xtremes almonds. For a chance to win one of an extremely limited supply of these medals, as well as a year’s supply of Xtremes, fans simply have to Tweet #TasteOfVictory when their favorite athlete wins in Tokyo and tell us if they’ll do the biting for them. Debuting throughout the Tokyo Games and on the USA Surf Team’s channels, the “Taste of Victory” campaign will include product placement, influencer engagement, a promo video, and static and video social posts.
