The use of laxatives is a bit of a taboo subject; so when laxative brands aren’t communicating the sanitised and rational message you’d usually expect in the pharma category, they have historically reverted to broad-metaphor toilet humour. It’s all very obvious, and in effect - unmemorable.
‘Buried’ flips the tired health ad tropes and goes dark; disarming the viewer with what looks like a cinematic trailer in order to harness peoples collective hunger for more content to keep them entertained in lockdown. The spot emulates the art of the unexpected twist in order to land the core product benefit, being that Prunelax is simply on another level for relief. Because ‘There’s relief—and then there’s relief’. This irreverent campaign, created by Five by Five Global and directed by Armand de Saint-Salvy of Vandal & Helium Film launches with the first spot of a five-part iteration.
