BBDO New York and State Farm have released two new football spots to kickoff football season on September 9 – the brands’ first new football work since Super Bowl 2021. The spots will feature MVP QBs Aaron Rodgers and Patrick Mahomes and of course, Jake from State Farm. Last year the brand introduced the concept that State Farm has surprisingly great rates, but this year, Aaron and Patrick get creative and set out to prove that State Farm has surprisingly great rates that fit any budget. In one spot, Jake walks into a music store and sees Rodgers in disguise as an aspiring singer-songwriter strumming a guitar. When Jake tells him State Farm has rates that fit anyone’s budget, even an aspiring singer-songwriter, Rodgers plays a riff about his ex-best friend who gave his special rate away. In the other, Jake walks into a sneaker shop and sees Mahomes disguised as a sales associate. When Jake tells him State Farm has rates that fit any budget, even a sneakerhead, Mahomes is taken aback and says the shoes Jake wants are sold out (these happen to be Mahomes’ new shoes in collaboration with Adidas).
