Two & A Half Men is Americas highest rating sitcom, allowing Brother & Sisters, London to promote the new series in the UK as "The biggest thing to cross the Atlantic". As a comparison, they created a fictitious character, Big Bill McGill, "The SECOND biggest thing to cross the Atlantic". The TV campaign was accompanied by a micro-site dedicated to the life and times of Big Bill (www.biggestcrossing.com) and a series of print ads.
Says director Sam Washington: "I had a lot of fun working with Big Bill. I wrote him a history, penned his diary entries, and created a fake photo album, all of which can be found on the website. It was when visitors started pouring into the site that Bill really came to life: One guy even wrote in saying he though he was related to Big Bill!"
