This ALDI holiday commercial has all the qualities of a romantic comedy, with one important difference: the protagonist is a shopping cart. Created by INDIE Amsterdam, the film is touching thanks to the simplicity of the concept. A woman rescues a forlorn shopping cart from the wayside, and this leads to a surprisingly sweet storyline in which the cart feels a debt and attachment to this particular shopper. The cart has a life of its own and rolls into action whenever it sees this woman's car approaching the supermarket. The film revolves around one ALDI store, and we note the passing of time through the changing seasons. Finally, the woman doesn’t let the cart down and manages, despite a flat tire, to make it to ALDI for her Christmas shopping.
