Great Race: Monster

The Great Race is the world's oldest offshore powerboat race and THE national event in Trinidad and Tobago. It is globally sanctioned and has been running for over 50 years - so the locals know the race and the teams extremely well. We were tasked with getting people talking about the race before it happens and increasing interest for OOH. This not a circuit race in a protected bay but a point-to-point race across open water. With waves so big, we quickly realised these boats spend as much time out of the water as they do on it. The contestants are more than just a boat crew... they are more like pilots! This isn’t just racing on water - this is flying over water. So we took the livery of the 3 most followed and famous race boats locally (even non Great Race fans know them!) and dropped them onto 3 different jet fighter planes to dramatise our insight.
