Educamos (Teachers of Puerto Rico): María De Lourdes Santiago

The base salary of public school teachers in Puerto Rico is $1,750 a month, a number that hasn’t changed in 13 years. While Retired teachers struggle to make ends meet. Educamos, a teacher's organization that watches over teacher's rights, launched a campaign to raise awareness about the problem. The images tell a story through writing skills, using the signatures the people that can make decisions in the island. Today more than ever, teachers have new challenges in the face of an economy that is not keeping up with their salary and that puts the well-being of those already retired at risk.
