Filipinos are notorious for being late. It's so normalized, we even coined the term “Filipino Time” to poke fun at people who never arrive on time (i.e. “You know him, he’s always on Filipino Time.”).
In every office, there is a co-worker or two who always text to say that they "on their way" or are "almost there," that the "traffic is horrible" and "the trains are so full"-- only to come in several, several minutes later, with an iced coffee in hand. Then the pandemic happened and thanks to WFH, we ran out of excuses to be late. Now that we're back at work, 7-Eleven welcomes back the workforce by bringing back our favorite “sorry I’m late” excuses and inviting us over for one more quick stop at 7-Eleven. Just like the good ole days!
