In New Zealand, half of all fatal house fires involve alcohol or drugs. Fire & Emergency NZ wanted to find a safer way for people to satisfy the midnight munchies without burning their houses down.

You’re Cooked is a buffet of recipes to help the under the influence chefs of Aotearoa make food without making fire. Simple, satisfying and safe, the recipes are all designed to keep people away from the stove and oven if they’re drunk or high. On a boozy Friday night, we invited intoxicated revellers into our pop-up test kitchen to show us how to make food, without making fire.
