‘Long Haul’ is the title of the new commercial for Connex created by Leo Burnett, Melbourne. The new work is part of a campaign to inform Melburnians of forthcoming changes being made to the metropolitan train network as a result of increased patronage. In the commercial, an ordinary bloke finds out what it’s like to be Connex for a day, attempting to take hundreds of thousands of people to work by hauling them through the streets on trailers behind his ride-on mower. Says Leo Burnett Melbourne Creative Director, Jason Williams, “Most people don’t realise that what Connex does is actually a massive job. Especially in a city that’s growing as fast as Melbourne. We like the way this campaign puts it into perspective, without being preachy.”
The campaign launched last week with 90, 60 and 30 second commercials supported by print, online, outdoor, posters and radio.
