Research shows the deaf community feel isolated in a society that doesn't cater for them. It's not that they can't understand us, it's that we refuse to make ourselves understood in this tv spot via DDB New Zealand.
The most important thing for us is that people don't just get an understanding of what it's like to be deaf, but also come away with some tools to help a deaf person understand them. Bridging the gap if you will. It was nice to do a charity ad that was about solving a problem rather than just talking about a problem.
