Amazon Prime / Mr. & Mrs. Smith: Bathroom

Karena Evans has directed the promos for Donald Glover’s upcoming series Mr. & Mrs. Smith, soon to release on Amazon Prime on February 2nd. In addition to directing episodes of the series, Karena also directed the trio of promos for the upcoming show, which live on the series’ website and Instagram. The promos serve to highlight the chemistry and ease between the two leads, Donald Glover (Atlanta, Swarm) and Maya Erksine (PEN15). Glover is also co-creator and executive producer of the series alongside showrunner Francesca Sloane (Atlanta, Fargo). This remake of the 2005 New Regency film, which starred Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, has a very different premise than its predecessor. In this retelling, bullets do fly, but so do the sparks, when two spies are tossed together in a ruse of marriage while still required to perform dangerous missions. Karena is a visionary director who tells meaningful stories across film, music, and television. Known for her award-winning music videos 'God’s Plan' for Drake and 'Everyday Life' for Coldplay, and her work on shows like Dead Ringers, Snowfall, P-Valley, and Swipe Night for Tinder, which took home the Grand Prix at Cannes Lions for the first of its kind, interactive experience, her culturally rooted work explores diverse narratives about the human condition.
