The film was shot in south London at a disused hospital. To ensure that cultural details were accurate, Don’t Panic was supported by Fuad Sayed Issa, acting as a Cultural Director. Fuad runs the charity Violet, a local partner of ActionAid, which received funds to support the hospital and sadly lost his own son and several colleagues in the earthquakes. Fuad contributed to every aspect of the production; from the wardrobe, to the relationships portrayed, to the language, to the props and styling of the hospital. On the day, the team also had two dialect coaches to ensure the accuracy of the Arabic spoken. Ultimately this ensured avoiding hyperbole or over-dramatisation, staying true to the experiences of those who have lived through the earthquakes to portray an authentic and moving story.
