Notice Corp. Sydney put this ad together for Prepare to Live (www.preparetolive.org) is a non-profit org dedicated to providing life saving information and resources to Young Adults coping with cancer worldwide. This is their first Public Service TV ad.
Sometimes things just all come together perfectly - This was one of those times. Of particular note these spots were written and directed by Young Adult cancer survivors - even the guy in the Grim Reaper suit is a survivor! Talk about facing death and coming out the other side smelling like roses! I personally would like to to express once again my sincere gratitude to everyone who helped make the Grim Reaper ad for Prepare to Live. It has to be one of the all time smoothest and easiest shoots I've ever done and that's down to you all just being right on it and top of your game. The work you did was important: Over 15 million people die every year from cancer in world - 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women will get some sort of cancer in their lifetime - and the ONLY demographic to see a rise in both new diagnosis and mortality rates is the Young Adult demographic, aged 20-40. It's scary stuff. I believe the work we all did on Saturday will lead to an ad that gets noticed and as a result help even more people find the resources they need to beat their disease. This ad had a lot of personal meaning to me on many levels - as the Writer and Director, as a cancer survivor, and as the client - Co-Founder of Prepare to Live. For me it was absolutely incredible to see such amazing people volunteer their time and skills to make it happen. I sincerely thank you and wish you all health and happiness. And in the meantime, here's a link I hope you never need: www.preparetolive.org
