El Niño Southern Oscillation and global warming caused long lasting droughts and one of the worst summers in Colombian history. 69.279 hectares of native forests burned down.
95% of forest fires were human-caused, 5% occurred by natural causes. All campers and forest reservations visitors were handed out an invitation. They would be startled upon opening it because a printed image of a forest ignited as soon as the mailer designed Ogilvy & Mather Bogota was pulled out from the envelope.
