Snickers: Sessions![]() Top 6: July 20th 2011
Clemenger BBDO Melbourne has launched the initial phase of a new campaign for SNICKERS designed to showcase how 'you're not you when you're hungry'.
The SNICKERS SESSIONS will follow two Aussie acts - Miami Horror and Phrase - as they record and release a cover song completely different to their usual style, while raising money for youth charity Heaps Decent. The twist is that the public gets to choose which out-of-genre songs the two acts will cover. Should indie-electronic Miami Horror record 'I'm Stranded' by The Saints, 'Out of Mind, Out of Sight' by The Models or 'Under the Milky Way' by The Church? And should hip hop artist Phrase cover: 'Horror Movie' by Skyhooks, 'Friday on My Mind' by The Easybeats or 'Reckless' by Australian Crawl? For every vote SNICKERS will donate $1 to Heaps Decent - a not-for-profit organisation committed to nurturing the creativity of disadvantaged young people while supporting the development of emerging artists. There are five days remaining (voting closes this Friday) for people to vote for the song they want each band to cover and help raise up to $20,000 for Heaps Decent. The next phase of SNICKERS SESSIONS will follow the acts into the recording studio and document their struggle to wrap their heads around a track that is the antithesis of their usual style. Once the tracks have been recorded, they will be released on iTunes and 99 cents from the sale of each song will also go to Heaps Decent.
