The Half Moon Young People Theatre: Wonderful WorldTop 6: November 22nd 2006
For her directorial debut, London-based Pink Film Company founder Karen Cunningham helmed "Wonderful World" for the Half Moon Theatre Company, a group that helps kids from all backgrounds. Set to Louis Armstrong's ubiquitous "What a Wonderful World", the young actors recite the lyrics framed in scenes of abject poverty, yet projecting inner strength seemingly beyond their years.
The film was made on behalf of the Mediatrust & Volunteer Films (an organisation that was set up to support charities with very little or no money such as the Half Moon). Everybody involved in the making of the film gave their time for free.
