'Freshpedition' is the name of the new GE Appliances multimedia advertising campaign created by BBDO New York to help introduce the new GE French Door refrigerator. And it's unlike anything in the household appliance category.
The campaign consists of a microsite (www.freshpedition.com), TV, five webisodes, social media, digital ads and more and features chef Ben Sargent (host of Hook, Line & Dinner on the Cooking Channel) and real-life GE engineer Justin Berger as the two embark on a 2,000-mile odyssey to the barren deserts of West Texas. Their mission: to deliver a fully stocked, generator-powered refrigerator as a surprise to Ron Thompson, a homesick wildlife biologist who’s been doing research in the area for months on end. From beginning to end, it’s the 'ultimate torture test' all while providing the sense of adventure and drama worthy of a great reality show.
