Love is one of the most head-over-heels, confusing feelings a teen can experience. As we all know, Valentine's Day is about spending time with that special someone. For many young women, there is heavy pressure to make certain choices today. Serve Marketing, partnered with the United Way, is continuing awareness efforts to reduce the teen pregnancy rates in Milwaukee.

Valentine's Day marks the launch of the multifaceted "Baby, You're The One" campaign, in which we read between the lines of teen love notes and bring to light that, as great and permanent-feeling as young love is, making risky choices that may lead to teen pregnancy won't be so rosy down the line. Three different print ads illustrating that bringing a baby into the equation of young love changes everything have been strategically placed in bus shelters. On Valentine's Day, youth ambassadors personally handed out reality-check Valentines (echoing the message of the included print ads) to high school girls before and after school in the areas with high teen pregnancy rates. Finally, a radio spot will be played on radio stations popular with teens, such as KISS FM, during after-school hours to reinforce the message. All pieces of the campaign direct teens to BabyCanWait.com, where they can find sexual health tips and support.

It is our hope that, as a community, we will be able to empower young women to rise above peer influence.
