Circle 21: Extra Ordinary
Each year, about 6,000 babies are born in the U.S. with Down Syndrome, a genetic condition that alters the course of a child’s development.
Circle 21 is a Canadian-based non-profit organization that was founded in 2012 to help break down barriers, change perceptions and strengthen the Down Syndrome community by diffusing many of the stigmas people often associate with those diagnosed with Down Syndrome. To help deliver this message, Circle 21, with the help of its volunteer agency, Juniper Park in Toronto, produced a documentary film called “Extra Ordinary.” The film follows two individuals with Down Syndrome, demonstrating how people with Down Syndrome can – and do – lead meaningful, happy lives. The film was debuted earlier this month on World Down Syndrome Day (March 21) and has now been posted in its entirety on YouTube
