WorkSafe Victoria: Daddy's Home, Daddy's Here 60
Earlier this year WorkSafe Victoria, The Shannon Company and Sweet Productions set out to come up with an idea that celebrated the success of WorkSafe's 'Valuing Safety' campaign over the past 7 years.
The team who worked on the original 'Valuing Safety' commercial (titled 'Homecomings') consisted of three key people - Bill Shannon (The Shannon Company), James Shannon (Sweet Productions) and Aleksi Vellis (Director). The same three people (who have been involved in every 'Valuing Safety' campaign since 2006) came together again in 2013 to produce what is arguably the best WorkSafe Campaign to date. Rather than adhering to the obvious 'Best Of' sort of approach, the team has developed an idea that takes the audience on a rollercoaster of emotions. Showing a series of warm and happy homecomings, intersected with a stark and cold scenario in which a young woman and her daughter are confronted with the news that their husband/father has been killed at work. The true test of any 'Valuing Safety' commercial has always been whether or not it reflects the real meaning behind the campaign, which is 'The most important reason for making your workplace safe, is not at work at all'.
