The "Elvis DNA Sound" project was created by Grey Brasil for Rolling Stone magazine (Brazilian edition) to celebrate 6 decades of Elvis Presley. A new song was composed from a DNA sample from the King of Rock by a Scottish pianist and composer Stuart Mitchell an expert in taking sequences of musical notes from protein chains. The story of how it was made was turned into a movie for the web.The innovative and unprecedented action was inspired by the phrase "Elvis is not dead", more present than ever now with this project. Alongside with Grey Brasil, Mitchell worked on the music with the combination of DNA acquired from a strand of Elvis’ hair purchased from Hommer Gillant, the King's hairdresser. The complete story can be watched here: http://youtu.be/ofFyRaJ85bg. And the music can be downloaded on this website: www.elvisdnasound.com. It’s the first time this experience is made with a DNA of a music star recognized in the whole world.
