Dancing monkey phenomenon has been an ongoing issue for many years in Indonesia, especially in Jakarta. The innocent monkeys are brutally and severely taught by human, to be or to act 'human', and countless have died during the cruel 'training' process. For the survivors, the owners take them to the street to perform and to beg people for money. People commonly address all the dancing monkeys as "Sarimin", "Agus" and "Adinda".Jakarta Animal Aid Network (JAAN), one of the known animal-rights groups, have been campaigning and taking action coordinating non-stop with Jakarta's government to stop the exploitation, yet sadly the practice still can be seen around Jakarta streets.
