AMV BBDO has developed new creative work for the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS), designed to raise awareness of what the FSCS does and to provide reassure to the public that their savings are protected. The campaign includes an animated film and radio ads featuring the voice of Benedict Cumberbatch alongside press, digital display and a campaign microsite. The campaign employs captivating paper cut images (in film, print and digital display) and sounds (in radio). Each has a duality which represents two positive saving goals in a single item. The visual and audio ambiguity is designed to engage consumers and to help them to understand that whatever they are putting money aside for, that money is protected by the FSCS. FSCS protection is completely automatic, free of charge and backed by Government. If anything happens to your bank, building society or credit union the FSCS will pay back your money, up to £85,000. And in most cases you will get your money back within seven days. Since the FSCS was established in 2001 it has paid out over £26 billion in compensation and helped more than 4.5 million people. The long term ambition of the FSCS is to convert awareness into reassurance, turn reassurance into greater confidence in the financial services industry and contribute to the financial stability of the UK.
