To show consumers the long-term results of night time makeup removal, and also to drive traffic to the new swisspers.com website, a 48-second video stars fashion/beauty vlogger and online celebrity Nikki Phillippi, as she wipes away the wrinkled lines of a face 50 years older than her own. Halfway through the soundless footage, huge type announces, “Ok, this is fake.”
Production: The amount of makeup required to make Nikki appear so old would have looked disgusting coming off on a pad. Instead, 3-dimensional, latex wrinkles were created and applied by a Hollywood makeup artist. Then, using a hand-held infrared scanner (state-of-the-art in plastic surgery, archeology, forensics), Nikki’s wrinkled face was digitized as she sat still. Next, back in “young” face, Nikki perfomed all the cleaning motions and finally, her digital “old” face was mapped on top of the video sequence. Shoot took 9 hours. Post production mapping took another eight weeks.
