When one of the most iconic titles in video game history returns, a game that 40 million people played worldwide annually, its trailer better be good. For the unveiling of Guitar Hero Live, Activision tapped 72andSunny to create a game trailer that doesn't show you just what it’s like to play the game, but what you'll actually experience in the game. The Guitar Hero franchise returns from a five-year absence, and is expected to be one of the most anticipated launches of the year. In both the new game and the game trailer, Activision and 72andSunny flipped the camera to give players a first-person vantage point, putting them directly on the stage. Say goodbye to cartoon avatars -- the new Guitar Hero Live trailer and game was created with live-action film. Players perform in a real band, in front of real crowds who react in real time to the performance. The trailer was a close collaboration between Activision, developer Freestyle Games, and 72andSunny. To capture the experience for the trailer, 72andSunny, with director Giorgio Testi and co-director and game developer Jamie Jackson at the helm, shot additional footage from the live-action shoots for the game, including scenes that put the player backstage, fighting off stage fright, ready to start the show.
