The e-book is dead, long live the book says independent London bookshop. A new ad campaign is being launched by one of London’s most iconic independent bookshops to get people to ‘rekindle’ their love of traditional books in the age of the e-reader. Camden-based ad agency RKCR/Y&R created the print ad campaign for the bookshop Camden Lock Books. The illustrated ads are in response to recent surveys showing e-reader sales are slowing as paper books experience a surge in popularity. The ads give reasons why a real book is better than an e-book by literally highlighting words from the page of a book. One of the posters says: “You can’t get an author to sign an e book.” Another says: “When was the last time you took an e book into the bath?”
