ADRA Brazil's Campaign launches global petition to support countries hosting Syrian refugees. The world faces the worst refugee crisis since World War II. The systematic rape of … read morereligious minority women and girls from Syria has become a routine in the terrorist organization Islamic State (ISIS), where a complex infrastructure was created to commercialize these prisoners as sex slaves and justify the practice with religious precepts. Children are taken from their families, recruited and indoctrinated into terror: if they’re not made of suicide bombers, they’re put on front line to kill and die.Agency: Propeg Brasil
Given this terrible scenario, the international non-governmental organization (NGO) ADRA - present in 130 countries - has just launched a worldwide petition to collect signatures in support of countries hosting Syrian refugees. In the ads inviting people to sign the petition, we see images of groups of children in war and raped Syrian women as if they were asking for autographs, which puts the viewer as protagonist of the action. "In today's world, with so ephemeral celebrities, true idols and heros are those who extend a hand to effectively help the others" - said Jefferson Kern, director of ADRA Brazil.
In a recent BBC report, despite the distance, Brazil appears as one of the most supportive countries for Syrian refugees. With host and support policies to thousands of families coming from this region in conflict, the government offers them residence visas, shelters and job opportunities. "We want to use Brazilian example to sensitize countries who close their eyes and their borders to this sad reality" - says Kern.
