To celebrate the Tribeca Film Festival’s (TFF) 15th year, J. Walter Thompson New York is launching a campaign that celebrates TFF’s New York City origins and cinematic roots, with an infusion of new technology and engagement that explores the Festival’s growth over the past 15 years.
On March 29, TFF is unveiling the first computerized acting “judge," the Tribeca Film Festival ReActor, which combines voice and facial recognition with motion technology to record participants acting out iconic scenes from beloved films (including Star Wars, When Harry Met Sally and The Devil Wears Prada). The ReActor will make stops throughout the city leading up to the Festival where the public can engage and be judged based on their performances, with high scores earning tickets to the Festival. People can also follow the ReActors’ whereabouts at https://twitter.com/tribeca. During TFF (April 13 – 24) the ReActor will live at the Tribeca Festival Hub and in theaters.
