Verizon has launched its own music video version of Kelis’ 2003 hit “Milkshake” in a new digital/social media campaign that aims to show consumers that they can get simple, affordable prepaid plans on the most popular devices, without sacrificing network performance, with Verizon Prepaid.
Created by innovative cross-cultural agency the community, Verizon’s “Milkshake” takes place in a diner where a group of young business men are comparing streaming speeds. One complains that his prepaid is useless, but another guy leaps up and breaks into song with the intro, “My prepaid brings all the gigs to the plan, my network is better than yours.” The spot continues in the style of a music video, complete with dancing cops and waitresses, funny lyrics and examples of what better streaming can enable you to do – like check “cat gifs and crazy dogs, the funniest fails, and you know what? It’s selfie time. La la-la la la, no annual contract. La la-la la la, and awesome streaming. La la-la la la, watch like 12 shows.”
