For a country of roughly the same size and population as New Zealand, Norway sure has us licked on electric vehicles. While we are ahead on many measures, the cunning Scandies have around twenty times as many EVs as we do, so Meridian Energy think it's time we hit back. Continuing their long-running support of electric cars (including last year's TVC with Jeremy Wells and his young protégée), Meridian are launching a campaign to encourage Kiwis to take on Norway in an electric vehicle challenge. While New Zealand is behind at the moment, in order to help Kiwis catch up Meridian are offering free charging for EV owners, helping with charging stations at key areas, partnering with electric car sharing companies, and will have converted half their fleet to electric by June 2018.
