Internet sensation Korean Billy, known for his popular British dialect videos, and the UK’s largest student accommodation provider have partnered to create a ‘UK guide’, to help international students feel more at home. The video guide includes British quirks, sayings, landmarks and traditional cuisine. The UK’s largest purpose-built student accommodation provider has partnered with YouTuber Korean Billy to create a video guide to life in the UK, to help international students feel more at home and settle better into British culture. The guide focuses on typical UK quirks, sayings, landmarks and cuisine as well as some of the funnier typically British stereotypes. Unite Students has partnered with Korean Billy to create a video guide for overseas students coming to the UK for university. The video is a light-hearted guide to what Brits say, do, eat and visit, so that UK culture seems a little less alien and students feel more at home when they arrive. Unite Students and Korean Billy have also launched four other UK city-specific guides for British and international students moving to a new city to study. The city guides include top student locations – London, Bristol, Newcastle and Glasgow. In the UK guide, some of the typical British quirks Korean Billy covers include overusing the word sorry, talking about the weather and queuing anywhere they go. Traditional British foods include fish and chips, pie and mash and classic Sunday roasts, whilst stereotypical phrases for international students to learn include; ‘My G’ (my friend), ‘Mardy’ (grumpy/sulky) and ‘Bare jokes’ (very funny), as well as lots of other modern sayings.
