BEST TV
Winner: John Lewis '
Where Love Lives'. Seems like John Lewis usually focuses on a younger child in their iconic holiday ads, so it was refreshing to see this new take on the awkward teen years for families. I'm not sure why the dad and his son aren't comfortable talking, but the song with a remix of two generations of artists helps bridge the gap and made me smile right along with them.
Runner-up: Sainsbury's '
Greedy Giant'. As a fan of many of Roald Dahl's creations, it's fun to see the BFG back in action this holiday. Thought Sainsbury's coming to the rescue after the villainous glutton had his way with holiday feasts was also a pleasant, not-so-selly way to highlight their delivery offering.
BEST PRINT
Winner: Tolbrin '
The Real Terror - Living Room' has some fun with the post party mess. I wasn't familiar with the Tolbrin brand of cleaning products - yet another reason to visit Peru - but I like the fact that they can literally clean up the horrors lurking on any floor.
Runner-up: Panama '
The Colors of Our People' was beautifully shot. Having lived in Panama as a child for four years, I am eager to see the rest in this well-crafted campaign.
BEST OUTDOOR
Let's hear it for the boys!
Winner: KidsCan '
Boy Walking'. What a simple premise and execution. Clothe a famous statue of a boy to encourage more people to donate clothing for boys and girls. It's just that easy. And just that hard to actually make something like this happen.
Runner-up: Safer Boating NZ '
Buoy-Boy' is one of the most helpful kids in the water. Sure he's a buoy and not a real boy, but he's saving real lives by pointing out dangers you might not be aware of in the water. That's a good lad.
BEST INTERACTIVE
Winner: Spies Rejser '
Do it for mom'. This Danish campaign to encourage more baby-making even got your parents involved in booking your holiday. That's some highly inter-generational interactive work going on there. Kudos.
Runner-up: Yape '
The Other Line Up'. What a smart way to highlight the pay gap. These players have to work two jobs so they can afford to play professionally. Love the powerful simplicity of showing these women in their "other career" clothes to prove the point.
