Biography

Oriol Segarra was born in Barcelona. From an early age he has shown an avid interest in audiovisual expression, starting in the photography world beginning on a tireless search of experimentation with the most visual languages, craft techniques, and lighting.
Quickly, the passion for photography turned into a fixation for cinema. Taking the British cinema as a reference, savouring every concept with a delicate taste for surrealism and without moving away from the look of Kubricks’ syncretism and above all, Woody Allen´s naturalism, the way the young director raised the base of the future filtered through, forever, the lens of the camera. With those elements of mixing and a tenacious and excited dedication, Oriol Segarra directed his first spot at 22 years old, a job that he has not abandoned up to now.
Oriol Segarra has worked for a few production companies but the desire to globalise his work and his eagerness to learn about others cultures and other people brought him to look for the inspiration beyond our frontiers. Currently, Oriol and his team are working with Wotamnewprojectcircus to plough into the international market, while on a national level with Air Shuttle, the production company, is representing his interest.

Wotamnewprojectcircus is Oriol Segarra’s personal project, an advertising director living in Spain, trying to embrace different markets and countries.
His philosophy is imagination, the necessity of creativity, how to evolve through ways that we pass through every day, his idea of advertising extends beyond the limits of simple persuasion and it shows as a way to conceive a concept.
Wotam was born with an integrating and global vocation and itinerant circus thinking of the world with the intention of creating a new reality.



AWARDS.



All throughout his career, there are several awards that Oriol Segarra has collected. For example: a gold FIAP, silver FIAP, a bronze FIAP, a gold SOL, a Club de Creativos and the difficult and prestigious selection for the New Show Case of Cannes. Recently the Heineken Olympic Games campaign obtained 3 Ermi prizes (Best Production, Best Photography and Best Campaign). Some of these works, for example: The Sitges Film Festival or Patagón.com are not only advertisements that everyone remembers but are highly regarded by the Spanish advertising industry.
