Brazilian Born in 1977, Douglas Costa moved to France in 2000 to do a Master in Semiotics about the Influence of the Advertising and the Music Videos on Feature Movies at the Sorbonne University. Soon he started an internship at Partizan Midi Minuit following the dream of working with his idol Michel Gondry . But even better he was noticed by Executive Producer Georges Bermann who hired him after few weeks. Lucky he started working as Executive Producer Assistant at the Time Directors as Alex & Martin , Antoine Bardou-Jacquet, Eric Coignoux, Jim Hosking, Quentin Dupieux, Chris Robinson, Traktor and many others were at their top. --- At that time we had also an incredible production team working together and the top projects were non stop; Seven Nation Army, U2 Vertigo, Honda Cog, Peugeot 1007, Directors DVDs, Eternal Sunshine, Phoenix, Sebastien Tellier, Feist, Air, Daft Punk, Kavinsky and all the French Touch bands were there. And in 2003 we ve awarded the Palm D or of best Production Company on the Cannes Lions Festival. it was really exciting, and amazing to come from abroad and find yourself on the international mainstream projects, so it was very worthy for my formation as Executive Producer. Douglas Costa said. After Collaborate for The Science of Sleep in 2006 and watch his name scrolling on his early days idol movie he decided to start directing, then he made a bunch of dvds and music videos for Brazilian Market, Fashion Films and Photography for Punta Magazine on Leo Burnett Lapiz Chicago, till being hired to work as internal director for CLM BBDO Paris. In 2009 he is hired in Brazil to work as Creative Producer for The Emmy Awarded TV SHOW CQC on his first TV experience. Back to his country soon he is hired by Experienced Producer Paulo Dantas, who introduces him to the Advertising and Cinema Brazilian Market. Multi Languages speaker he starts to work with the International Market from Brazil and is a Pioneer bringing an International Production Company flag to take off in Brazilian Market. Yes Partizan Brazil starts to see its very beginning on 2012 soon making successful campaigns as Brahma Imagina na Copa and Peugeot Wacky Racers. In 2013 already working as partner in Vetor Zero International, Douglas brings Master Spike Lee The Man to work in Brazil directing Seu Jorge Music Video for the World Cup and they start a positive partnership working together for the Brazilian Market.
Lee’s friendship leads Douglas to found Taking Over NY, and on his very first job he invites Spike Lee to direct a Big Budweiser Campaign that will lead to the opening of Jackie Robinson Museum in NY .
Today Douglas Works internationally as Executive Producer and Runs Taking Over NY and the Partizan Latam house based in São Paulo working for brands as Budweiser, Nike, Heineken, Mcdonald's, Budweiser, Land Rover, Nestlé, Coca Cola, and many others . Features and Series to come.
