Ben is a freelance Director.
He began his Film Directing career at Exit Films, one of Australia’s premier TV commercial production companies. He worked locally and internationally in this creative hotspot for 10 years where the collaborative, multi-awarded, and exceptionally professional environment informed his experience and style.
He has directed over 50 television commercials for clients including CHRYSLER, ANZ, NINTENDO, SCHWEPPES, NISSAN, HOST PLUS, STOCKLAND, MAGGI and ORIGIN ENERGY, collaborating with Melbourne, Sydney, Perth and International advertising agencies.
His passion and drive for filmmaking extends to long form, where he is the founder of The Pearl Film Company. Here, his recent focus on feature film and television projects has refined his ability in Feature Producing and Scriptwriting. The company has an ambitious slate of projects currently in development, including two features GUNMETAL and THE LUCK and an exciting commercial television program titled BABY BOOM.
Ben has directed and co-produced a half hour TV pilot ROAD STORIES for independent television audiences. Shot by award winning cinematographer Adam Arkapaw, the story follows an aspiring blues and roots band on their make-or-break road tour to the Tamworth Music Festival.
Ben is also the director of the short film DEAD AND BURIED that won the audience award at a number of local short film festivals and was a finalist at The Canberra Short Film Festival.
