I embarked on my first adventure into ad land at Euro RSCG Malaysia, where I worked on Volvo and Sunkist. I then moved to Leo Burnett Indonesia to handle the agency’s global accounts, McDonald’s and Philip Morris. After a year and a half at Burnett, I packed my pencil and notepad and started scribbling ideas for JWT Indonesia. I’ve also been trusted by BBH Singapore to work on their regional projects.
I have won a few awards like Clio, Cannes Lions, AdFest, Spikes Asia, and Citra Pariwara (Indonesia’s National Ad Festival). In 2008, my digital campaign “My Baby Tree” for WWF’s won one of only two “Green Spikes” (the other was for the famous “Earth Hour”) and was awarded “Best of Show” at Citra Pariwara. My work has been featured in the industry’s leading publication like Campaign Brief Asia, Media Magazine and The Work Annual.
During my three years at JWT Indonesia I helped the agency to rank third among over 200+ JWT offices worldwide, and was instrumental to the agency’s historical three year winning streak at Citra Pariwara, being named “Agency of The Year” in 2007, 2008 and 2009, securing JWT Indonesia’s reputation as the most creative advertising agency in the country.
Always eager for new challenges, in 2010 I joined colmanhandoko, Indonesia’s local creative hot shop as Creative Group Head and quickly rose to the position of Creative Director. My work for AXIS Telekom, most notably the “AXIS Man”, “Johnny Blunt”, and “Swag” campaign became the talk of the town and was considered a breakthrough in the category, propelling the brand from obscurity to stardom.
