Halloween is upon us and what can be more blood curdling after a long Monday at the office than sitting down to judge this week's best ads.

BEST TV
My fears were soon allayed by the first film on the list! An ad for Uber starring Robert De Niro and the guy out of Sex Education. However, after a stellar start it failed to raise my pulse. Instead my winner is The Harris Project. A piece about co-occuring disorders is a scary topic indeed. The film has suitably powerful, visceral writing, offbeat direction, authentic acting and a haunting soundtrack.

Runner up is another offbeat offering. The fresh approach to the tourism category for Visit Sweden.

BEST PRINT
I'm afraid (pun intended) that I couldn't find anything in the print bag this week. Check it out yourself if you dare.

BEST OUTDOOR
We are soon back in the groove in outdoor. My pick. Safely in the category of "work I hate because I didn't do it" is an idea around misheard song lyrics for Specsavers. "Your aunt's been naked but you're to shy to sing". Will someone write a better line than that anywhere in the world this week?

Runner up for me was Molnlycke Health Care a strong idea with a rather smart visualisation.

BEST INTERACTIVE
More topical Halloween fun in the interactive section including the chance to meet my evil twin. However my top 2 picks are actually both promo ideas. The winner, Diablo IV Blood Harvest probably did an effective job of getting gamers out to donate blood. Brands incentivising people to do good deeds? More of that please. And runner up for me is Matilda Bay, a fun and brave promo with no shortage of trademark Aussie Beer irony.

Happy Halloween everyone.
