CEPF, which has long been committed to environmental protection in China and around the world, started a public service activity with the theme of “If Nature Is Already in Ruins” in 2018 among urban residents influenced by large energy consumption, heavy household waste and heavy pollution. The activity questions: cities are being rebuilt and expanded during the renovation and refurbishment. But can the natural environment be rebuilt after it has been destroyed?
The propaganda activities are mainly based on wild animals. A series of posters have been designed to show images of animals “living on the ruins”, revealing the natural environment being invaded and destroyed.
The purpose is to arouse people's attention to such issues as melting and disappearing of Arctic sea ice, and drastic reduction of world wetlands with African grasslands in particular.
If the nature is already in ruins, whether it can be rebuilt - this is not a hypothetical problem but a serious reality: the natural environment is razed to rubble, the living space invaded by human waste, and species plunged into misery. This is not far away from urban residents. But have human beings realized the seriousness of the current situation? And have they found a way for self-redemption?
Neither animals nor humans can confront the danger of losing the living environment or withstand the pain of the environmental deterioration!
During the propaganda, posters were displayed on the Internet, social media terminals, light boxes and LCD screens where large crowd gathers. At the same time, a series of posters were released on construction sites and demolition sites of waste buildings, combined with special media to create popular communication events. Through on-site monitoring, the posters were available among about 35,000 people, bringing good communication results for the whole propaganda activity.
