"Corta!" (Cut!) the Pact for Anti-Harassment in the Audiovisual Industry, created in 2017 by APRO (the Brazilian Association of Production of Audiovisual Works) – is once again flashing the spotlight on the need for a change in behavior in the audiovisual industry, with a new campaign created by Leo Burnett Tailor Made, designed to raise awareness against sexual harassment. Cut! is also joining efforts with #MeTooBrazil through a new partnership. The campaign videos draw an analogy with script writing, and depict situations of abusive behavior in the audiovisual industry. Created by a group of women lawyers with expertise in fighting gender-based violence, #MeTooBrasil is an independent arm of its namesake movement in the U.S. Along with the Justiceiras Project, the movement aims at harboring victims of sexual violence, providing visibility, support, and guidance to girls and women who experience abusive situations. the campaign includes 3 videos based on real stories so shocking they might seem straight out of a suspense thriller. “Apartment,” “Hotel,” and “Dressing Room” portray situations of abusive behavior that took place in parties, official events, and even during a typical workday in a production set, and involved directors, producers, actors, and other people from the audiovisual industry.
